Vintage Studio Art Pottery Playful Dog Figurine Sculpture Stoneware Mid-Century MCM Signed
While clearing out the clutter, my husband came across this dog. He had put it away many years ago (like over 50). It was given to him by his grandparents in Denmark for a Christmas present. We do not know anything else about this item. He is finally letting go of some of his stuff.
I tried to do some research on it but did not find anything. It is marked on the bottom (see photos). I have tried every which way to find out who the artist is. I want to give credit to the maker for the playful look, demeanor and feeling this figurine has. If anyone knows, please let me know.
Measurements: approx. 4 1/2" from back of back feet to tip of bottom chin. The rump is 2 1/4" high. I am not sure of the material. It looks like terracotta on the bottom, but I am not sure. Stoneware? Redware? I still have so much to learn in this area. Please review the pictures as that speaks to the condition of the item.
